THIS WEEK WITH SOCIAL MEDIA CLUB PHOENIX: A TweetUp, A Blab, and #NoKidHungry

We've got a big week planned for Club activities!

TweetUp w/Adam Dince

Join us this Thursday night, September 10th at 6:30pm to welcome #SpoofChat co-founder Adam Dince to the Valley! He's in town for a few days and is making some time to get together with us. Feel free to stop by Aunt Chilada's in Tempe during that time and say hi!

Weekly SMC Phoenix Blab

Last week we kicked our weekly series on Blab off with a bang as Blab Community Manager/Princess Brittany Metz joined SMC Phoenix President Vincent Orleck, Club VP Q Hoffman, and Club Director of Partnerships Kelly Loubet (replay avail here). She told us the story of how Blab was created, how she ended up in her role, and a little bit about what's coming in the future.

We also had some awesome pop-ins from:

Tune in this week to see what we have in store! Subscribe here.

#NoKidHungry

Our friend Tim McDonald is leading a massive effort to ensure that kids in the U.S. get fed. To that end, we are happy and proud to participate in the #NoKidHungry efforts happening this week and really throughout the entire month of September...and you can too!

Our own SMC Phoenix Secretary Nikki Fica is pulling an event together here in the area:

But even if you can't make the local event, here’s how you can still contribute:

Step 1: Pull out your smartphone or hop on a computer and visit NoKidHungry.org to satisfy your craving and find your favorite participating restaurants near you on the Dine Out for No Kid Hungry map.

Step 2: Choose your destination and go! Grab your keys, hail a cab, tie on your sneaks, get your bus pass – whatever your means of transportation – and head to the restaurant.

Step 3: Dine out. Do good. Donate and get great rewards. Feel full in your belly and in your heart. Smile! You just helped feed a hungry child!

Step 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We know, we said three steps. But Step 4 is really easy: Share your joy! Tweet, Facebook, Snapchat, Vine, Instagram and generally shout from the rooftops that you just helped make #NoKidHungry a reality.

About #NoKidHungry

No child should go hungry in America, but 1 in 5 kids will face hunger this year. Using proven, practical solutions, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger today by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Dine Out for No Kid Hungry is the largest restaurant-led fundraiser in the country, nationally sponsored by founding partner National Restaurant Association, as well as ARYZTA (La Brea Bakery & Otis Spunkmeyer), Citi, Ecolab, Food Network, Open Table, and Smithfield. When we all work together, we can make sure kids get the healthy food they need. No Kid Hungry is a campaign of national anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength. Join us at NoKidHungry.org.
